Independent Whisky Bottlers

To me, an independent bottler is a bit like an artist. They search through casks from different distilleries for the ones that tell them a story through aroma and taste. They do not belong to a distillery: they move from one to another. Some have an incredible nose for finding a cask; others blend, mature or experiment… each with their own palate and way of doing things.

That is also what I love about these bottles: they are not made to be reproduced identically forever. A release comes out, we discover it, share it, and then it disappears. Once all the bottles have been drunk, those particular aromas and flavours will no longer exist.

That does not mean it is better than an official bottling. They are simply two different approaches. A “Glen-something 10 Year Old” 😄 is designed precisely so that you can find the whisky you love from one bottle to the next, year after year, wherever you enjoy it. An independent bottler can do something else: capture a cask, a moment, and sometimes try something completely different.

That is also why I enjoy working with independent bottlers so much: they allow me to offer you bottles that you will not find everywhere.
