No doubt about it: this has an Islay character; smoky and peaty. It releases gentle aromas of peach and pear. Unrestrained, it leads with smoke on the palate, while a touch of bitterness comes through as grapefruit topped with a dash of pepper. The finish stretches out at length on a dry, tarry note.
Easy to approach yet robust on the palate, a drop of water can give it a more 'gentlemanly' touch.
